Because the cancellations of the Longines FEI Nations Cup Jumping in Dublin, Falsterbo and Hickstead the FEI decided that in all remaining Longines FEI Nations Cup classes not eight but ten countries will compete. That means that in Rotterdam Sweden and Switzerland will be added to the original line up of Belgian, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Norway the USA and of course the Netherlands.

All European teams will be chasing points for the final later this year in Barcelona. The other qualifiers are Sankt Gallen (June 2 - 6), La Baule (June 10 - 13) and Sopot (June 17 - 20).

At the Longines FEI Nations Cup this year there will be only four riders for each country; there will be no backup riders traveling with the teams. All four riders will be competing, the best three results for each manche will count.

"There are very few 5* competitions this year and everyone is focussing on Tokio. With that in mind it may become very exciting", says Yves Houtackers, sports director Jumping. "There is a lot at stake. Riders and horses only have until July 5 to show they are in good shape. The Corona and Rhino restrictions during the past months made it difficult for them to find their rhythm."
