At 10.45, today's first winner, Jodie Hall McAteer, entered the arena for the price giving ceremony of the Boels Rental Prize. In a razor sharp time of 63,66 seconds, the British rider and her stunning grey mare Mademoiselle-A were first to cross the finish line. The difference with the number two, Antonio Alfonso, was considerable. The Italian and his Dutch bred gelding Harrie completed their round in 66,25 seconden. With a time of 66,98 seconds, Sweden's Jens Fredericson and Karmel van de Watering completed the podium.

Despite the rain, quite a few spectators already filled the seats around the Rotterdam Arena. 13 combinations came to the start, but only 11 managed to complete the course. Swedish rider Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli and the brown stallion Kendrick came in fourth place with a time of 68,42 seconds. Pieter Devos and Irona van de Viking Z were the second combination to start and set a time of 70,17 seconds, grating them fifth place in the final results.

Jack Ansems was the only Dutch rider to start in this competition. Unfortunately, his horse, 8-year-old J’espere twice refused to jump the Boels Rental obstacle, causing the combination to be eliminated. As the announcer said, "a great way to gain experience for a young horse." Hopefully, we'll see the combination return to CHIO Rotterdam.
