Strong teams in Rotterdam at FEI Nations Cup Dressage

CHIO
AM Team NL 1

There are currently very few 5* dressage events. And with the Olympics upcoming it is no surprise that a lot of countries asked to compete at the 72nd CHIO Rotterdam. We will see teams from Belgium, Germany, France, Great Britain, Ireland, the USA, Sweden and of course The Netherlands in the Rotterdam Arena. For the Dutch Grand Prix riders there is a special class, the day before the international 5* event starts, with a Grand Prix test for twelve Dutch riders.

Just like theLongines FEI Nations Cup Jumping at the dressage the teams this year consist of three riders and all three results will count. After the 5* Grand Prix on Thursday will be announced which riders will perform the Grand Prix Special on Saturday and which ones will perform in the Grand Prix Freestyle. Both classes are on Saturday. The Dutch riders will ride a Grand Prix Special test on Thursday.

"We received so many requests from riders this year," says Patric van der Meer, Sports Director Dressage. "New GrandPrix combinations will have to compete in international 5* events otherwise they cannot be selected for the Olympic teams. With this dressage program we hope to accommodate as many riders and chef d'equipes as possible with their preparations for Tokyo.... And we of course will have fantastic dressage sports in Rotterdam!"
