FEI President Ingmar de Vos enjoys coming to CHIO Rotterdam, partly due to his close connection with late chairman Jacques Schoufour, who lived around the corner from him. Ingmar de Vos excited to have a 'complete' CHIO Rotterdam once again. He welcomes all to this year's event!

On behalf of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, it is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you back to Rotterdam after two years of absence, for another exciting leg of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ and the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ series 2022. What a treat to have two disciplines battle it out at the same event for the team honours! Over the next few days, you will see some of the world’s finest sport horses and athletes unite to showcase their talent, and the Jumping athletes will once again have the opportunity to earn valuable points for their nation to qualify for the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final in Barcelona from 29 September to 2 October.

Over the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic forced us into finding solutions and new ways of adapting, in order to resume competitions as best as possible. It is thanks to the collective efforts of Organisers such as Ron Voskuilen and his team, as well as tools such as the FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the Covid-19 pandemic, that our athletes are able to compete safely and in the name of national pride.

In existence for over 100 years, with competitions of the highest standard, Nations Cup™ series are a real crowd pleaser attracting fans from all around the world. Over time, the dynamic, edge of your seat competition and the grace you come to witness in each series, has provided many incredible sporting moments and created unforgettable memories. At its core, we find the value of teamwork, inherent to the equestrian landscape at all levels, as well as courage, trust and communication the key to success. It is this bond which enables impressive feats of athleticism to be achieved and the core around which the whole FEI community revolves.

To be a part of a Nations Cup™ series is a tribute, and celebration of horsemanship, collaboration, determination and passion. I want to thank the Organisers, sponsors, and all those who have dedicated their time, commitment and support to the successful running of the series allowing people around the world to engage first-hand with FEI Jumping.

To the athletes and nations, I wish the best of luck! And to the fans, I hope that you enjoy every moment our sport has to offer.
