Special Tune for CHIO Rotterdam Anniversary

Especially for the 75th CHIO Rotterdam, a track has been composed by Rangel Silaev, an alumnus of Classic Young Masters. The music piece 'Jump into the Future' will be performed live by the musicians of Classic Young Masters. Singer Amy Tweed, known from the Tribute to Toto band, was involved as a lyricist and will also sing the song and use spoken word. The track will be presented on Saturday evening.
In addition to this track, a tune has also been composed for use during announcements and victory laps at CHIO. The composer drew inspiration for the tune from the song 'Het is feest in Rotterdam' by the Hermes House Band.
The track is performed by:
- Anneke Attema - double bass
- Sunniva Skaug - viola
- Julian van der Linden - alto saxophone
- Enzo Kok - violin
- Rangel Silaev - piano and also the composer/producer of the track
- Andrej van Brakel - cello
- Amy Tweed - lyricist / vocals / spoken word
We asked the composer where he got his inspiration for the track. Rangel: “I was mainly inspired by the 'proud', 'grand' feeling I get when I think of horses, so it's somewhat bombastic/cool in places but also leaves room for tenderness.”
We also asked the singer and lyricist where she got her inspiration for the track. “In writing the lyrics, I was inspired by the fact that CHIO has existed for so long. Based on the bullet points and the 'heroic sound' of Rangel's demo, I felt it should be told as a kind of story. In the chorus, I wanted to show that all the beautiful aspects of CHIO come together and make people 'live'."
CHIO Rotterdam and Classic Young Masters share many similarities. Both have a strong focus on talent and talent development, and there are many parallels between top sports and musicians. Think of mental strength, perseverance, focus, desire to perform, concentration, intensive training, etc. In this respect, the collaboration and the result nicely align with the theme of 75 years of CHIO; 'Jump into the Future'.
