ABN AMRO prize won by American rider Lucy Deslauriers

The winner of Friday's opening competition is American rider Lucy Deslauriers with Billy de Beaufour. Sanne Thijssen and Genasis redeemed themselves after their elimination yesterday by finishing second this time around. Norwegian rider Johan Sebasebastian Gulliksen took third place with Billy Cool.
In the ABN AMRO prize, riders had to complete a course with two phases. 24 combinations entered the arena, of which 14 remained faultless to compete in phase two. No less than 12 of them managed to clear the course without any mistakes.
Home rider Sanne Thijssen was pleased with her performance. "Yesterday we were just unfortunate. Genasis was jumping super but his foot landed on the edge of the water obstacle and slid back. I was still in forward motion heading for the next obstacle... that's where it went wrong. The horse was trying so hard! Today we weren't unlucky and he jumped super again. I'm happy we were able to show today how great he is!"
