Rebecca Hart takes first Para Dressage gold in Versailles
Rebecca Hart (USA) struck Grade III gold in the first Para Dressage Individual Medal Event of the Paralympic Games at Château de Versailles as she triumphed with Floratina.
The 39-year-old, who won team bronze at Tokyo 2020, was the penultimate athlete to enter the arena but overhauled long-time leader Rixt van der Horst (NED) and Royal Fonq to win her first Paralympic Games individual medal with a score of 77.900.
Van der Horst took silver - her sixth Paralympics Games medal overall - with a score of 76.433 as Natasha Baker (GBR), in her first Games since becoming a mother last year, had to settle for bronze – her ninth Paralympic medal - on Dawn Chorus with 73.167.
