Dutch Team Announced for FEI Nations Cup Dressage at CHIO Rotterdam

Chef d'equipe Patrick van der Meer has announced the TeamNL riders and horses selected to compete in the FEI Nations Cup Dressage during CHIO Rotterdam. CHIO Rotterdam will take place from June 19 to 22 in the beautiful Kralingse Bos. The FEI Nations Cup Dressage competition is scheduled for Thursday, June 19.
This past weekend, the first observation competition was held in Exloo, marking the road to the European Dressage Championships, which will take place in France from August 26 to 31. Following the impressive performances in Exloo, Patrick van der Meer has finalized his selection for CHIO Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is the only official FEI Nations Cup Dressage competition held in the Netherlands. The Dutch team will consist of:
-
Marlies van Baalen – Habibi DVB
-
Hans Peter Minderhoud – Glock’s Taminiau
-
Marieke van der Putten – Kuvasz RS2 N.O.P.T.
-
Thamar Zweistra – Hexagon’s Luxuriouzz N.O.P.T.
Patrick van der Meer commented on his team: "I’m very pleased with this team and with the performances they showed in Exloo. Marlies van Baalen and Habibi DVB are the experienced combination in the team and delivered consistent results. The relatively young combinations continue to show progress in each competition, which gives us confidence heading into the upcoming Nations Cup events. It’s also great that we’re able to include two N.O.P.T. horses in the team – it shows that these horses are making the transition to Grand Prix level successfully."
During CHIO Rotterdam, the combinations competing in the Nations Cup will also participate in the Grand Prix Special or the Grand Prix Freestyle on Saturday, June 21.
In addition to the international competition, there will also be a National Grand Prix in Rotterdam. Unlike previous years, this class will not be judged by the exact same jury panel nor under identical conditions as the international competition. Participants for the National Grand Prix will be announced at a later stage.
Besides the senior Grand Prix classes, the program will also feature competitions for Dutch Pony, Children, Juniors, Young Riders, and U25 combinations. Para Dressage riders and several Prix St. Georges combinations will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents in Rotterdam.
