Team Germany clinch 2023 Longines title
Otto Becker’s German team won the prestigious Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ 2023 title at the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona, Spain today when producing the only zero score on the final afternoon.
Pathfinder Jana Wargers and the mare Dorette had two fences down, but faultless performances from Christian Kukuk with Checker 47, Hans-Dieter Dreher and Elysium and Richard Vogel and United Touch S sealed it when the best three results from each team were counted.
France, Belgium and Brazil lined up behind them when all sharing an eight-fault tally and separated only by combined times. And that fourth-place finish for the Brazilians scooped the qualifying spot on offer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games while their rivals from the USA lost out when finishing fifth with nine faults on the board.
