Lying last on the leaderboard going into this final leg of the Europe Division 1 series they were on the brink of missing out on a place at the world Final in Barcelona (ESP) in October as only the top countries teams can qualify from this series. But with their backs to the wall they put in a gritty performance and pulled off victory without needing Smith’s help in the second round. They finished with just a single time fault which left them well clear of Team Italy in runner-up spot on 12 and the hosts from Ireland in third on 16 faults. |
