Demi Haerkens wins second Para Dressage gold in Grade IV Individual Freestyle

Demi Haerkens (NED) won her second individual gold on her Paralympic Games debut, and third medal in all, as she and Daula triumphed in the Grave IV Individual Freestyle at Château de Versailles.

In the first of five Individual Freestyle events on the final day of Para Dressage competition, Haerken and her chestnut mare – the last of the eight combinations to go – scored a stunning 83.390%.





Anna-Lena Niehues (GER) on Quimbaya 6, scored 80.900% to take silver, adding to their two bronzes in the Individual test and Team event.

Kate Shoemaker (USA) and Vianne had set a challenging target by posting 80.170%, but had to settle for bronze, Shoemaker’s first individual Paralympics medal after a Team bronze at Tokyo 2020.

Sanne Voets (NED) on Demantur, the defending champions, finished outside the medals in fourth, with 79.880%.
