D&S Vastgoed Prize goes to Ricardo Correa Reinert
The 2* riders opened the Saturday of CHIO 2026 with a beautiful two-phase special class featuring many nationalities and up-and-coming talents. The victory in this class went to Brazil. The 33-year-old Brazilian Ricardo Correa Reinert and the eight-year-old mare Nahla N.C. (by Carambole) crossed the finish line in a time of 30.17 seconds.
The second prize stayed in the Netherlands. Dennis van den Brink and the eight-year-old gelding Chardonny SV Z (by Comthago VDL) clocked 30.23 seconds. The third prize went to the USA. She was also in the top three yesterday: Emily Dehoff and her twelve-year-old gelding Viper Z (by Vigo d’Arsouilles) crossed the finish line in 30.38 seconds.
Ricardo is clearly happy when we speak to him: "I know it is difficult to be able to start here in Rotterdam in the two-star classes. I am therefore very happy that it worked out through Anne Lourens, the CEO of Lasaulec. He has a table, and that allows me to ride. I have been working with him for years. Why do I like riding here? Rotterdam is a perfect place for younger horses to gain experience."
"My plan in this class was to ride the first phase fault-free and, if that succeeded, to ride the second phase a bit faster with tighter lines. I had a good feeling, and it went easily. I didn't have to push, and that was partly because Nahla is naturally a fast horse."
"When I think of Rotterdam, I think of the Longines League of Nations, the beautiful surroundings, Lasaulec, the good organization, the nice stables, and the kind people. I love coming here and hope to be back again next year."
