A grand conclusion to the dressage action of this year’s CHIO Rotterdam: Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale secured the win in the Luxaflex Prize Grand Prix Special with a stunning performance, earning them 80.276%. Spain’s Juan Antonio Jimenez Cobo took second place with Quartar and a score of 69.404%. Laura Tomlinson and Full Moon II completed the podium with 69.170%.

Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale were last to enter the Rotterdam Arena, and the combination simply did what they did best: wow the crowd with a wonderful, solid test, which earned them a score of 80.276%. Among the marks was a 10 for the extended canter.

Charlotte Fry was very pleased with the win in Rotterdam. "Glamourdale gave his absolute all – it felt like he wanted to make up for our canter pirouette on Thursday that did not go to plan. The one-tempi changes were spot-on.” It was a hot day in Rotterdam, but that didn’t seem to affect the combination. “At no point did Glamourdale seem bothered by the heat."

"Until now, Rotterdam hadn’t really been my lucky place, but today Glammy gave me so much confidence. He really thrives in this kind of atmosphere – he loves people and the crowd. The stadium setup is different from, say, the European Championships, but the enclosed feeling actually gives a great sense of focus. This was a fantastic way to kick off our outdoor season.”
