On this CHIO's opening day, American rider Katie Duerrhammer was the winner of the CDN Grand Prix Dressage. She scored 72.087% with 14-year-old Quartett. Anne Meulendijks was the best rider for the home team. With Issey she scored 71,848% in her test, coming in second place.

Judith Ribbels (NED) took third place with Fun Fun EB. As the duo made their official Grand Prix debut, the mare was a bit nervous entering the arena, but still the pair produced a fine test with nice scores for the piaffe, which the jury awarded with 71.130 %.

Among 10 Dutch competitors, this event also featured riders from Belgium, the United States, France and Great Britain. British rider Charlotte Fry finished just short of the podium with Don Joe.

In Thursday's CDIO5* Nations Cup event, winner Duerhammer will represent the American team with another horse, Paxton.
