In the early hours of morning, it was time for the first event on Thursday: the CDN Grand Prix Special. The prize giving ceremony featured a all-Dutch podium, with Judith Ribbels taking first prize. With her 12-year-old mare Fun Fun EB she scored 72,447%, just edging out compatriot Anne Meulendijks and Issey (72,213%). Mirelle Kemenade - Witlox came in third place with Siebenstein.

For Judith Ribbels, the victory was a dream come true. On Wednesday, the combination came third in the CDN Grand Prix. "Only a few weeks ago we rode our very first Grand Prix-test in Geesteren and we were fourth and third. People asked me then, will you be starting in Rotterdam? Thankfully, the organisation said 'yes' when I called them to ask and now look what happened! Isn't it amazing?"

"I bought Fun Fun as a three-year-old and have trained her myself. She's a very special mare. When she was six, we started at Dutch Z-level dressage and this year we reached the highest level. The bond we have with each other is very special. She'll do anything for me. I've been a visitor at this event for a long time and have always thought, 'what if I could ride here?' Now I'm going to enjoy this moment!"
